Suncrest Bank supports Young Entrepreneurs Program
We are a proud supporter of the Visalia Chamber of Commerce and specifically the Young Entrepreneurs Program (YEA!), a program hosted and administered locally by the Visalia Chamber of Commerce. Students are recruited from both local high and middle schools to enter the program, ages range from 13 to 18 and learn the fundamentals of entrepreneurship. This includes thinking through a business idea, writing a business plan, obtaining funding, advertising, organizational layout and company branding. The students come into the program in September with an idea and leave the program in May as CEO of their own company.

Silver Dollar Dig
The Silver Dollar Dig is a long standing tradition at the Springville Rodeo where all children attending the rodeo can climb down into the rodeo arena, and hunt for buried silver dollars. It is one of the highlights of this year's 66th annual Springville Rodeo, and will be held on Sunday April 27, 2014.
As a member of the Porterville High School Academy of Business Advisory Board, Porterville Branch President Dustin Della participated in mock interviews for both Juniors and Seniors at the High School. Students were taught how to fill out an application and resume, and then were granted an interview at a fictitious company by various members of the business community. The interview process is made as realistic as possible, and once complete, the students received direct feedback from the interviewers.
Educator for a Day
The Porterville Chamber of Commerce partnered with the Porterville Unified School District and the Burton School District to present Educator for a Day on March 7th, 2014. Local business men and women paired with educators and spent 2-4 hours visiting the schools and discussing ways in which educators can help to give our youth the skills needed by our local business men and women. Porterville Branch President Dustin Della participated, and also discussed coming back to the school to be a guest speaker to talk about money and the value of saving and planning.
Teach Children to Save
This is a program offered by the American bankers Association, in which they have derived curriculum for all age levels to teach children about the importance of being educated about money.
